Lovers Dara (Azad) and Angoori (Indira) are parted due to Angoori’s father, who does not approve of the match. But after Dara wins an athletic competition, a priest sees to it that the young couple is united in marriage. Dara and his brother, Shahbaaz, travel on business to a faraway city and encounter Rufy, the owner of the lodge where they have sought shelter. Rufy takes a liking to the handsome Dara, but Dara rebuffs her advances. Angered by this, Rufy seeks the assistance of a witch to put a spell on Dara so that he will forget his wife and fall in love with her alone.

The film starts in a situation where match is about to be lit. Everything is ready for the action to start. After the fingers who hold the match make a move, viewers expect to see a carefully canned initial flames erupting from the end of the match but they should prepare for disappointment: the fingers move the match out off the screen and the most interesting scene is, in a way, 'omitted' from the film. The fingers will return to the screen with the match and the fire is seen consuming the fuel in a gentle fashion.

The film is based on true events and addresses issues of rape, trafficking and crimes committed against women in India

河玟从某天起，每次吃母亲做的家常饭时，眼前都会浮现一组倒计时数字，且每吃一餐数字就减一。他惊恐地发现，数字归零的那一刻，就是母亲生命的终点。为了“留住”母亲，河玟开始刻意逃避母亲做的饭，母子间的距离越来越远。成年后，他依旧被这个秘密困扰，活在恐惧与愧疚中。女友丽恩察觉他的异常，决心帮他解开心结、修补破碎的亲情。河玟最终要面对的，是如何在倒计时的恐惧中，学会珍惜与母亲相处的每一刻，在爱与告别中找到和解之路。
